The Environment Institute of Kenya (EIK) invites applications for an upcoming Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Training Course, designed to build capacity in sustainability reporting and responsible corporate governance. As ESG disclosures become a regulatory and stakeholder expectation, this course will equip participants with practical knowledge on ESG principles, compliance frameworks, and reporting standards. Participants will gain critical insights into how organizations can create long-term value while contributing positively to the environment and society.

Land Acquisition & Resettlement Action Planning Training Course (Cohort 2)

Land acquisition and resettlement planning is an emerging field in infrastructure development projects. As demand for services increases, land acquisition for infrastructure development is now paramount. Consequently, Resettlement Action Planning (RAP) is becoming an important tool in ensuring fair compensation, livelihood restoration, and minimal social disruption. It seeks to integrate social & environmental safeguards in development projects that have a component of land acquisition or displacement. RAP focuses on inclusivity, transparency, and the protection of vulnerable groups. Specifically, it addresses stakeholder engagement, gender consideration, and human rights, aiming to balance development goals with social equity and environmental sustainability.

Climate change and Carbon trading (Cohort 1)

Climate change continues to be a defining global challenge, requiring urgent and innovative solutions. Carbon trading has emerged as a vital mechanism for mitigating greenhouse gas emissions, offering a pathway to achieving climate targets while fostering sustainable economic growth. This short course will provide participants with an understanding of climate change science, policy frameworks, and the principles of carbon trading. It will explore mechanisms and their role in global climate agreements
