Mr. Alex Mugambi
ChairpersonMr. Alex Mugambi is the Chairperson of the Environment Institute of Kenya (EIK). He provides strategic leadership to the Institute, championing environmental professionalism, sustainable development, and climate-resilient practices across Kenya. With a strong background in environmental management and policy engagement, he plays a key role in strengthening partnerships, capacity building, and advocacy for sound environmental governance.
Ms. Zelda Kerubo
SecretaryZelda Kerubo is an environmental professional and currently the Secretary of the Environment Institute of Kenya (EIK), where she plays a key role in supporting governance, coordination, and programme delivery for the Institute’s environmental initiatives. She has experience in international cooperation, renewable energy, transport, and sustainable urban planning, bringing cross-sector insights into climate and environmental action. In her broader work, Zelda supports climate action programmes and partnerships across Africa to promote sustainable development.
Ms. Ann Nduati
TreasurerAnn Nduati is an environmental professional and the Treasurer of the Environment Institute of Kenya (EIK), providing financial oversight and governance support to the Institute’s initiatives. She works in environmental consultancy and management, contributing to sustainable practice and compliance in environmental projects in Kenya.
Mr. Edwin Ouko Otieno
Vice Chairperson & LEMS ConvenorMr. Edwin Ouko Otieno is the Vice Chairperson and Convenor of Legal, Ethics and Membership Services (LEMS) at the Environment Institute of Kenya (EIK). He is an environmental practitioner with experience in environmental impact assessment and compliance, actively contributing to professional guidance, mentorship within the environmental sector in Kenya. In his roles, Convenor of Legal, Ethics and Membership Services (LEMS), he leads initiatives that uphold professional standards, ensure ethical practice, and support the development and engagement of the Institute’s membership community.
Ms. Magdalene Kagendo
Vice SecretaryMs. Magdalene Kagendo is the Vice Secretary of the Environment Institute of Kenya (EIK). She is an environmental professional who supports the Institute’s governance, administrative coordination, and membership engagement efforts. In her role, she contributes to effective communication, organizational support, and the promotion of environmental professionalism within the EIK community.
Dr. Purity Muthoni
Vice Treasurer & PEC ConvenorDr. Purity Muthoni is the Vice Treasurer and Convenor of Partnerships, Education, and Communications at the Environment Institute of Kenya (EIK). She is an environmental professional with expertise in climate action, research, and capacity building. In her roles, she supports financial oversight while leading efforts to strengthen strategic partnerships, environmental education, and communications that advance environmental sustainability and professional engagement across Kenya.
Hon. Apopo Lentana
F&A ConvenorHon. Apopo Lentana is the Finance and Administration Convenor at the Environment Institute of Kenya (EIK). He has experience in public service and organizational management, supporting the Institute’s financial planning, administrative coordination, and operational effectiveness. In his role, he ensures sound governance practices and efficient resource management to advance EIK’s environmental mission.
